A summer drive through Siler City.

The history of bgood.org began with a drive through Siler City in the summer of 2012. At the time, Siler City was a rural North Carolina community that was struggling economically. Businesses and farming seemed to be failing—and the hope that the good days would return seemed to be fading.

We couldn’t fix everything, but bgood.org’s purpose was to bring Siler City neighbors together to create community solutions in education, food resources and supporting Veterans that have served.

In the early days, we focused our efforts on creating a Veterans Treatment Court in Chatham County and connecting with Chatham County nonprofits during the pandemic for community events and service projects.

A decade later, we’re still backing community solutions in Chatham County. With renewed scholarships at the Hispanic Liaison and Communities in Schools, collaborative efforts at the Siler City Community Garden, The Alliance, and increased support for the animal rescue therapy at Charlie Mike, bgood.org continues to power the community.

Neighbors Powering Community

HOW BGOOD.ORG OPERATES

PURPOSE

Connect Neighbors

We know a community is only as strong as the bond between it’s neighbors. That is why we focus on enabling neighbors and communities to enact sustainable change through various programs.

VISION

Select Projects

We carefully and thoughtfully select neighbors and nonprofits to receive financial support, organize service projects and drive collaboration that will support lasting change for communities.

MISSION

Help Globally

We seek opportunities to provide support for local communities right here in the U.S.A, as well as our global neighbors around the world, who are in need of assistance.

Life is for service.

“Anything that we can do to help foster the intellect and spirit and emotional growth of our fellow human beings, that is our job. Those of us who have this particular vision must continue against all odds. Life is for service.”

— Fred Rogers
